Pets are a great prop to guarantee a smile because they are just as unpredictable as kids. Not only do pets provide so much entertainment, but they’ll also generate a genuine smile or laughter from the kids.

Don’t go for the ‘say cheese’ tactic as it makes kids put on a forced smile. Instead get talking to the kids. Ask them about what they want to be when they’re older, their favourite movie etc. If you engage in a conversation with them, you are guaranteed to get a smile. For this suggestion, multitasking is essential as you’ll have to talk as well as take photos!
