In mid-2018, a Singaporean photographer and “influencer” Daryl Aiden caused controversial comments about his work, especially from photographers and creatives. He even made it to BBC for claiming stock photos as his own personal work. As Amos Struck explained in his article, stock photos should be used as part of a greater design (e.g. websites; brochures) as they have copyrights.
Taking photos and editing is hard work. And even more work when it comes to taking stock photos as it requires the creativity of the photographer and a sharp eye for details of model, wardrobe, location and many other details. Dary Aiden did put effort behind the editing with photos that were not his but taken by great and creative photographers. This caught the attention of photographers and creatives, including Klaud9. He used stock photos and photoshopped himself skilfully into the photo (Hint: did you see any footprints on the sand?). He used beautiful landmarks around the world and instagramable shops which enabled him to get fans and 100,000 followers. But, as the article written by Mothership, all were unoriginal.
It took 2 months for his comeback on Instagram, once he disclosed all the details in an Instagram post. We’ve been watching his work on his Instagram account since the comeback and we see that he has a new personal brand, namely “photoshop expert”. We can see his expertise as a photo editor is indeed impressive. In this blog, we have show some of our top picks.

We appreciate the editing work from all content creators out there. But, a coin has always two sides. There is always a lot of effort behind a great photo. It can take hours to finish editing a photo and the learning process itself takes months to years. Have you read our interview with an optical illusion expert? The Klaud9 team has experienced themselves the challenges that creatives and marketers face in the visual content world when they launch marketing or social media campaigns in Asia. We have therefore developed an online On Demand Branded platform that enables creatives to get exclusive ready-to-use visual content within 24hrs and at a fraction of the cost. Any creative can now create tailored visual content online. No more tedious and long manual processes but everything sits in the cloud. The reason for the high demand of exclusive On demand Branded photos is due to the lack of Asian Stock Photos as there are not enough Asian Stock photographers in this region. Stock photos has been around in the US and in Europe for over 20 years but is a fairly new business model for photographers in this part of the world. We hope that Asian photographers embrace technology to make an extra income through our Asian Stock Photos platform or our On demand Branded platform which allows them to shoot for brands like Fitbit, VISA, Montblanc, Breguet, Starhub, google, and many more.
You can download now great Asian Stock photos from www.klaud9.com that you can not find on any other platform. Do you need something else? We got your back, get your exclusive On Demand Branded Content by launching your online brief on https://beta.klaud9.com/on-demand.
